This quickly turns into a good thing because you are kinda forced to know some mechanics and things to avoid due to trial and error. The "con" of tanking is getting used to being the leader and going head first into the dungeon when you aren't used to it. Being able to group up like 10 mobs and AOE them down is super efficient and I find myself doing even more dps than most other dps classes. Knowing the dungeons, planning routes, being the person everyone follows etc. Where I'm feeling regretful is with the tank role, I've watched a few videos and read some guides but I just can't find myself comfortable with the 'leader' role. First of all I'm actually loving the class, it feels really strong, there's lot's to do but it makes sense to me. I rolled a monk and spec'd into brewmaster.
